In your role as a Network Specialist - Inside Plant Construction position on the Inside Plant Construction team you would be required to have the ability to manage installation sources based on timeline, budget and scope of a particular project. Individual will partner with Outside Plant Construction, Broadband Systems engineering and other teams to respond rapidly to incoming projects. Individual must be knowledgeable about the current state of the TDS installation standards, and must be aware of ongoing efforts to improve those standards. Individual must be capable of managing internal and external installation sources. Individual must have the ability to conduct inspections on projects and work with internal teams or installation source to correct any issues while maintaining the timeline of a project. Individual must have the ability to educate as needed in order to reduce project issues in the future.

 

This position has the ability to work remotely in any of the 40+ States in which TDS Telecom operates.

 

This position can be hired at a Network Specialist - Inside Plant Construction (2025-28568), Network Specialist I - Inside Plant Construction (2025-28578) or Network Specialist II - Inside Plant Construction (2025-28579) level depending on the skills and qualifications of the candidate. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate contractor’s workload and prioritize based on scheduled dates.
  • Collaboratively prioritize as needed to handle Expedites and Jeopardy situations in a timely manner.
  • Select and support and manage internal installers and external installation vendors.
  • Partner with Outside Plant Construction and Broadband Systems Engineering to create a seamless Engineering function in the Implementation pipeline.
  • Work with vendors to coordinate work schedules as necessary.
  • Work with Broadband Systems Engineering to update and maintain Standards as necessary
  • Manage the Construction process and workflow for continuous improvement; monitor internal customer feedback and conduct internal review sessions to ensure Inside Plant Construction output is consistent and high quality.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) –OR– 4+ years of professional work experience
  • 4+ years of experience in Voice, Data, or Video networking

Other Qualifications 

  • Must be willing to travel up to 30%
  • Understanding of project management and coordination
  • Headend experience
  • Familiarity with contractor relations
  • Experience with Broadband access technologies
  • Knowledge of Ethernet switching, VoIP applications, QOS, and CMTS
  • Familiarity with AC and DC power equipment and HVAC implementations in both cabin

The listed pay range reflects the minimum and maximum base salary. Actual offers will be based on factors such as skills, qualifications, experience, location, and role-specific competencies. Some positions may also offer additional compensation, such as bonuses or equity awards.
