As the Senior Manager of Marketplace Communications you will help shape the future of Target Plus by unlocking communication strategies that deliver clarity and engagement for our rapidly growing, curated marketplace sellers. This role will own the strategy and execution of clear, engaging communications that help Sellers understand what’s happening, why it matters, and what to do next. You’ll own the editorial calendar and deliver consistent, on-brand messages across newsletters, announcements, and portal content. Collaborating cross-functionally, you’ll translate complex business, technology, and policy updates into simple, actionable communications that drive seller awareness, readiness and adoption. You’ll also use data and insights to continuously refine messaging, streamline communication channels, and ensure sellers receive the right information at the right time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the seller communications strategy across multiple channels, including newsletters, announcements, portal content, notifications, and FAQs, ensuring scale, consistency, and operational effectiveness.

  • Create and maintain an editorial calendar that aligns proactive seller messaging to marketplace priorities, product and technology roadmaps, policy changes, and peak operational moments.

  • Establish and own communication intake, prioritization, and governance processes to ensure seller-facing messaging is aligned to business objectives, operational readiness, and platform capacity.

  • Lead change management and launch readiness routines to support successful rollout of marketplace policies, features, and technology enhancements.

  • Translate complex business updates, product capabilities, and policy requirements into clear, actionable seller guidance that drives adoption, compliance, and reduced friction.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Marketplace Operations, Product, Technology, Legal, and Seller Support to ensure sellers receive the right information at the right time, with downstream operational teams fully prepared.

  • Maintain a consistent voice and brand experience across all seller-facing touchpoints while reinforcing marketplace standards and expectations.

  • Use data, seller feedback, and operational insights to drive continuous improvement in communication effectiveness and marketplace outcomes.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication including 4+ years in a communications role, preferably in e-commerce or marketplace environments

  • 2+ years in project management or working with large cross functional environment including business, operations tech and product teams

  • Demonstrated success navigating ambiguity and driving cross-functional alignment

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
