Tampa General Hospital is a private not-for-profit hospital and one of the most comprehensive medical facilities in West Central Florida.
Outpatient Rehabilitation Services are provided at multiple off campus locations and include physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech language pathology services for patients across the life span (Pediatric and Adult). Patients may have a variety of diagnoses including but not limited to, stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, orthopedic injuries, trauma, burns, chronic pain, birth injuries and other cardiac and neurology-related conditions. The goal of rehabilitation services is to increase the functional independence of our patients and improve their quality of life through state of the art, evidence-based practices.
PT will be part of an Interdisciplinary team of PT, OT and SLP’s providing world class evidence-based care to patients. Primary caseload will be patients with Orthopedic conditions, but PT may be expected to work with some patients from other diagnostic categories to meet the operational needs of the department.
Bachelor's degree in physical therapy
Physical Therapy Licensure to practice in the state of Florida
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Must be Board certified in Orthopedics or commit to passing the exam within 2 years of hire
Technical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrate competency in all clinical knowledge and skills specific to the patient population
In collaboration with patient and /or family member develops individualized treatment plans for each patient
Collaborate within discipline and team members of other disciplines to optimize patient care
Manges patient caseload and Documentation to department guidelines
Stays current with evidence based practice through professional development activities as appropriate to caseload
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to build and maintain relationships with patients, physicians and other referral sources
Active participation in team meetings
Performs all other duties as assigned
**Travel may be required to meet operational needs at various locations
