About this role

The Manager of Nursing Services is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the nursing department within a healthcare facility. They provide leadership and direction to nursing staff, ensure adherence to policies and procedures, manage budgets and resources, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care. Additionally, they may be involved in recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of nursing staff, as well as strategic planning and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Assisting the Nurse Manager in overseeing daily operations of nursing unit or department
  • Providing guidance and support to nursing staff, including mentoring and coaching
  • Ensuring adherence to hospital policies, procedures, and standards of care
  • Participating in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of nursing staff
  • Assisting with staff scheduling and ensuring adequate coverage
  • Nurse Leader rounding on both patients and team members
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
  • Monitoring patient outcomes and participating in quality improvement initiatives
  • Serving as a resource for nursing staff regarding clinical questions and concerns
  • Handling patient and family complaints or issues, and resolving conflicts as needed
  • Assisting with staff education and training programs
  • Participating in meetings, committees and other hospital initiatives as required
  • Keeping informed of current trends, research, and best practices in nursing management and healthcare deliver
  • Risk Management reporting


Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing

Experience:

  • 2 years of experience as an RN
  • Clinical Expertise - Strong clinical skills and knowledge of nursing practices, procedures, and standards of care
  • Leadership - Ability to lead and motivate a team of nursing staff, fostering positive and collaborative work environment
  • Communication - Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with staff, patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
