Summary
This position is to greet patients who have arrived at our imaging facilities for their radiologic
procedure or test and verify that they are at the right facility and are on the schedule. They must
be able to continually display exemplary customer service by having a helpful, positive, friendly
and caring attitude.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned
as needed.
• In a friendly, positive, caring and helpful manner, greet patients who arrive to our facility
for their scheduled appointment and those who are walk-in patients.
• Verify in the RIS system that the patient is at the right location and the right time for their
procedure. If they are at the wrong location help them with directions to the right
location.
• Verifies that the patient has brought all of the required information for their exam:
➢ prescription for the procedure(s)
➢ authorization or referral if the procedure requires it
➢ outside images that will be used for comparison
➢ insurance card & driver’s license for ID
• Ask and verify that the patient did do the prep for their exam, if required.
• Frequently make rounds in the lobby and other patient areas to help patients or answer
basic questions.
• Responsible for keeping the lobby clean and straightened.
• Assist patients in waiting area and explain exams and results process as needed.
• Walk patients to restroom areas if requested.
• Function in a team environment and assist other team members when needed.
• Others duties may be required, but not limited to; answering the phone, escorting patient
to exam room, and scheduling or rescheduling of patient’s exams. All other duties as
assigned.
Education / Experience
• Minimum of one-year work experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
Knowledge of medical terminology desirable. Must have computer and phone
experience.
• High school graduate or GED preferred.
Knowledge & Skill
• Proficient in computer software and excellent typing skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Previous working experience in customer service, preferably in a medical setting.
• Knowledge of customer service concepts and company policies including safety,
privacy and HIPAA.
• Problem solving techniques and skills.
• Able to communicate clearly to establish cooperative relationships with patients,
families, physicians and team members, and create a pleasant waiting room
atmosphere.
• Previous office or call center experience, preferred.
• Knowledge of some medical terminology and radiology procedures, preferred.
