TGH is the area’s only level I trauma center and one of just two ABA-verified adult & pediatric burn centers in Florida. With five medical helicopters*, we transport critically injured or ill patients from 23 surrounding counties to receive the advanced care they need. The ICUs include Trauma, Neuroscience, Surgical, Medical, Vascular Cardiothoracic, Coronary Care, Burn, Pediatrics, and Neonatal Units. TGH has 143 intensive care unit beds.  TGH is a level one Trauma Center, and a certified Regional Burn Center that excels in the care of critically ill patients.

 

Job Summary

 

The APRN or Physician Assistant provides nursing and medical services to individuals, families and groups, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention as well as diagnosis and management of acute and chronic diseases.  Works autonomously as well as in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage clients' health care problems.  Maintains an annual protocol with supervising physician, as required by state professional regulatory agencies. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values in accordance with Tampa General Hospital.

 

We are actively recruiting Advanced Practice Providers (APP) to join the Medical Critical Care Team at Tampa General Hospital (TGH). Critical Care APP’s will work closely with the Medical ICU attending and team on a daily basis. Primary responsibilities include providing new patient evaluations, follow up care for inpatients, clinical coordination and management, and critical care procedures. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in hospital inpatient critical care. This is a fast paced and complex medical intensive care unit. 

 

 

 



 

Current licensure as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant in the State of Florida. Acute Care or Adult Gerontology Acute Care board certification required for APRNs. Experience in Critical Care strongly preferred.
