The IT Director is responsible for directing, managing, and coordinating the activities of computerized Management Information Technology, and providing strategic direction and planning.

Major Responsibilities/Activities: 

  • Work with the IT team to ensure excellent service is provided to the user community.
  • Plans, develops, leads, and controls project flow for IT Infrastructure.          
  • Consults with Executive Management (GM, Directors, and other Executives, etc.) in conjunction with IT staff members to provide for computer service and support the various operating departments.
  • Determines the scope and priorities of user community requests and system projects.  Provides for needs assessments as required for the property.
  • Recommends and develops plans for systems development and operations, hardware and software purchases, budget, and staffing.
  • Directs and manages the development, implementation, installation, and operation of information and functional systems for the casino property.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors management information technology policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, legal and regulatory compliance. This is to include compliance with established MICS per Gaming and Tribal regulation.
  • Negotiates and contracts with consultants, technical personnel, and vendors for services and products as deemed necessary by the CIO.
  • Develops, maintains, and tests disaster recovery schemes and plans.  
  • Defines the developmental and operational tasks for a full Disaster and Recovery Plan.
  • Provides support to end users in the selection, procurement, usage, and maintenance of software programs and hardware consistent with management and operational requirements.  
  • Reviews reports of computer and peripheral equipment production, malfunction, and maintenance to determine costs and impact, and address problems relating to system, development, and infrastructure requirements.
  • Responsible for I.T. Communications, Help Desk, Audio/Visual, and Technical Services, Operations, and Application Support staff.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed with keen attention to detail.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Requirements 

  • Preference is given to qualified Santa Ana Tribal Members.
  • BS degree in computer science or equivalent; 5 or more years of related experience managing an IT staff and Gaming Systems
  • Computer Certifications, Management Training, and Project Management Certificates will be required.
  • Knowledge of network environments such as Windows RS/6000, AS/400, CISCO, UNIX and Windows networks.  
  • Additional training and education in systems analysis is required. 
  • Specialized work experience in casino related computer systems and software preferred. 
  • Ability to create and write reports (i.e., benchmarks, statistics, etc.) business correspondence, procedure manuals and project plans.
  • Minimum three to five years of PC technical experience hardware, operating systems, and networking.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must have knowledge of spreadsheet software and word processing software with use of Microsoft products including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • A smartphone capable of running company applications and communication systems is required. If a smartphone is not provided by the company, a candidate or employee may be provided a smartphone of the company’s choice, through a payroll deduction program.
  • All employees are required to proficiently use a smartphone for company applications, email, and text.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Pueblo of Santa Ana Gaming and Regulatory Commission key gaming license.
