HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT

Your Role:

  • Under the direct supervision* of the Director/Pharmacy, Supervisor/Pharmacy, or a Pharmacist, performs a variety of technical and clerical duties for the hospital-wide unit dose drug distribution system.
    • * Direct Supervision: A pharmacist gives specific instructions on all assignments. A pharmacist reviews the technician’s work for completeness and accuracy, or the technician performs tasks with inherent checks built into the nature of the work.
  • Responsible for maintaining confidential reports, entering and retrieving data utilizing the computer system, filling automated medication dispensing systems with a supply of unit dose medications, procuring and filling requests for pharmaceutical supplies, and delivering supplies to patient care areas.

Reports To:

  • Director/Pharmacy (JC: 039358), Supervisor/Pharmacy (JC: 024601), or Pharmacist (JC: 021702)

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO APPLY

Must be registered with the State of Flordia and prepairing to take the Tech 1 test

 

Required Education:

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) and successful completion of a Florida Board of Pharmacy (FLBOP) approved pharmacy technician training program.

Required Experience:

  • None

Preferred Experience:

  • Six (6) to twelve (12) months of pharmacy experience.

Required Certification/License/Registry: 

  • FLBOP registration in accordance with Florida Statutes, Title XXXII (Regulations of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 465 (Pharmacy), Section 014 (Pharmacy Technician).
  • CPhT credential from the PTCB or the NHA within one (1) year post-hire.
