Marketing Volunteer – Video Editing & Social Media

Status: Part-Time, Volunteer
Weekly Time Commitment: 5–10 hours
Location: Primarily Remote (Toronto-based for in-person events)
Department: MAXPitch
Reports To: Lead, MAXPitch Team

Role Overview

MAXPitch is looking for a motivated Marketing Volunteer with skills in video editing and social media content creation. This role is ideal for someone passionate about storytelling through short-form clips and event recaps, with a strong commitment to keeping MAXPitch’s digital presence vibrant and engaging. This position requires consistent content production alongside participation in weekly team meetings.


Key Responsibilities

  • Create and edit video content including short-form clips and event recaps for social media
  • Maintain a consistent posting schedule for MAXPitch across relevant social platforms
  • Attend a mandatory weekly 1-hour team meeting every Monday evening
  • Support content capture at in-person MAXPitch events in Toronto in 2026 (attendance encouraged but not mandatory)
  • Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to develop creative content ideas


Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience or strong interest in video editing and social media content creation
  • Proficiency with video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Canva, or similar)
  • Ability to commit 5–10 hours weekly, including mandatory Monday evening meetings
  • Ability to attend in-person events in Toronto for content capture (preferred)
  • Familiarity with the tech/startup ecosystem is a strong asset but not required
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently


Portfolio Requirement

  • A portfolio is required and must include relevant digital and print design samples
  • Portfolio may be submitted as a website link or PDF
  • Applications without a portfolio will not be considered
