About this role 

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and curious Junior FullStack .Net Software Engineer here at Just Eat Takeaway to join our Engineering Experience team within the Platform Engineering domain. In this role, you will help support technical excellence and delivery velocity by collaborating with senior engineers to build tools, adopt best practices, and help eliminate friction from the daily life of every engineer.

Our team operates within the Agile SCRUM framework, emphasising flexibility, continuous improvement, and high-impact collaboration. We engage in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, which are foundational to our approach in managing projects and driving innovation.

* Please note that this position is located in Enschede (3 days a week from our Enschede office and 2 days working from home)

These are some of the key components to the position: 

• Work as a junior full stack engineer oriented backend
• Assist in analyzing deployment data and explore how AI tools can be used to gain insights into our engineering metrics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management and quality assurance, to assist in delivering high-quality software solutions.
• Help monitor the services we provide and suggest small improvements to the overall developer experience.
• Learn to implement optimizations for accessibility, performance, and scalability within our web applications.
• Contribute to building backend systems, helping to ensure applications are implemented with efficient data handling and analysis in mind.
• Adopt team best practices and coding standards, while actively participating in code reviews and engineering discussions.
• Document your work and share your learnings with the team to help maintain and strengthen our collaborative culture.

What will you bring to the team?

• Basic experience with (or a strong desire to master) C# and the .NET ecosystem.
• Curiosity about how AI tools can be used to identify issues or automate workflows.
• Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks such as Vue.js, React, or Angular.
• Exposure to Python, ideally for basic scripting or data tasks.
• Theoretical understanding of HTTP and RESTful API design principles.
• Basic understanding of what CI/CD pipelines are and why they are used in modern software delivery.
• Strong communication skills and an ability to work well within a diverse, multi-country team.
