We are seeking qualified individuals for the role of Welder – Shops. This position will start off as Monday-Friday 8-4 and will transition to a 7/7 schedule.  

Job Responsibilities: 

• Consistently and diligently practices workplace safety.
• Performstakefive at least once per shift or as required by changing job conditions.
• Performs hourly safety and maintenance checks, logs on shift reports.
• Cleans assigned area as scheduled and/orrequired.
• Advises Supervisor/Superintendent or Maintenance departmentofany requirements for maintenance or repair.
• Participates in routine maintenance as assigned.
• Follows all environmental and safety policies as well as policies outlined in the employee handbook.
• Immediately stops, reports, and controls any environmental spills.
• Performs all other duties assigned by supervision whiledemonstratingan authentic team player attitude.
• Maintain a neat and organized work area. 
• Routinely makes informed judgment calls and performs work in the best interest of safe production.
• Analyze basic engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
• Weld components in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions as certified by CWB.
• Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), plasma arc welding (PAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), oxy-acetylene welding (OAW), resistance welding and submerged arc welding (SAW).
• Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.
• Operate brazing and soldering equipment.
• Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears, and other metal straightening and bending machines.
• Operate Plasma cutting table.

Skills and Qualifications: 

• Knowledge of plant equipment repair.
• Ability to use andmaintaintools and equipment repair.
• Knowledge of mining performance and systems.
• CWB All position certificationanasset.

Education: 

• Completion of a Welding Program
• JP Preferred 

License:  

Driver's License (Required)
