We are seeking qualified individuals for the role of Central Services Planner. This position will be based in Labrador West, NL. This position will require candidates to work a 5/2 rotation Monday – Friday. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for proper planning of all maintenance activities related to the Central Services.
  • Monitor and analyze maintenance reports, work orders, and history to optimize effective and efficient procedures, planning, and scheduling.
  • Ensure behavior is compliant with the site’s Safety Management Plan.
  • Work with Central Services, coordinators, and supervisors to develop short, mid, and long-term plans for equipment maintenance.
  • Ensure that site-related records are filed following company policy and statutory and contractual requirements.
  • Contributes to Maintenance Shutdown planning strategies to identify and prioritize future maintenance requirements and work with mill operations, engineering, maintenance, and outside contractors to ensure successful and safe execution.
  • Efficient ordering of parts through appropriate channels and approvals to execute sound planning activities.
  • Ensure the maintenance system is fully utilized to ensure transparency across the business and maintained accordingly.
  • Liaise with Central Services, with purchasing and communicate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure resources are available when required.
  • Provide feedback to relevant leadership personnel regarding site issues that may affect the operating and financial performance of the operation and equipment.
  • Provide Central Services Manager with monthly reports and assist with changes where necessary.
  • Use the established systems to track maintenance activities against targets and notify leadership of gaps.
  • Constantly seek continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Schedule shop and Central Services contractors’ projects
  • Support for Central Services Department

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of processing facility operations in the Mining industry, including Plant maintenance, safety, maintenance, equipment, and staff utilization.
  • Ellipse/CMMS knowledge preferred
  • Project management with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience in document control systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively train and mentor employees. 
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills 
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced environment.  
  • Excellent work ethic and attendance record
  • Knowledge in Fabrication, Machining & Welding is essential
  • Ability to read, understand and do material take-offs from drawings

Education:

  • Journeyperson Trade Certificate or Technical Diploma (Preferred) 
  • Engineering Degree (Mechanical/Manufacturing)

License:

  • Driver's License (Required)
