Systra’s Systems business in India has design and project management capabilities in the systems space. Experts in railway equipment, our teams are experienced in choosing the best-adapted solutions to each situation while meeting various regulatory standards.SYSTRA has detailed design competency in India in the power supply and overhead lines business in both AC & DC traction. We have also capabilities of designing AC & DC traction, third rail, power supply and OHL. We have experience in executing domestic and some prestigious international projects.
We are seeking applications for the position of Transport Planner/ Traffic Engineer for Mumbai Office.
Missions/Main Duties
Transport Planning
- Research, analyze, and forecast travel demand and transport trends.
- Develop and appraise transport strategies, policies, and interventions.
- Examine the impact of transport infrastructure on urban/rural environments.
- Prepare transport assessments, statements, and feasibility studies.
Traffic Engineering
- Undertake traffic flow analysis, signal design, and junction modeling.
- Evaluate and optimize road safety and intersection performance.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings and traffic management schemes.
- Review and develop traffic management plans for work zones and events.
Technical Support
- Collect, analyze, and interpret traffic and transport data (e.g., using modeling software such as VISSIM, SIDRA, PARAMICS, or VISUM).
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
- Support multidisciplinary teams and interface with local authorities.
Project Management
- Contribute to project planning, delivery, and quality assurance.
- Monitor project progress, budgets, and deliverables.
- Collaborate with clients, colleagues, and stakeholder groups.
Sustainability and Innovation
- Promote sustainable transport initiatives (public transport, active travel, etc.).
- Explore and implement innovative mobility solutions and technologies.
Profile/Skills
- Education qualification - B.Tech
- Years of experience - 2-5 years.
- Multi-modal transport planning studies with expertise in Variable Demand Modelling
- Understanding of development and application of transport models, including operational models and economic appraisal
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
