Context

We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Reporting Analyst to join our growing engineering team in York or Leeds. 

 

This position within our team will suit a committed individual who can demonstrate interpersonal skills combined with commercial awareness and the ability to play their part in growing a dynamic high-performance team. 

 

With a focus on the design of High Speed Rail infrastructure the will also support other Product Lines in the UK and overseas, the post-holder will be part of a growing team delivering projects for a diverse portfolio of UK clients.  

 

The Senior Reporting Analyst will be responsible for developing and administering the performance and reporting approach to be used on the project. 

Missions/Main Duties

Working in collaboration with our management team, designers and contract partners, the Senior Reporting Analyst will be involved in a variety of tasks such as: 

  • Preparing reports and dashboards to the Client, Project Board, Senior Leadership Team, and others as required. 
  • Responsible for the development and use of Power BI as a Data Analytics tool within the project. 
  • Responsible for producing the Weekly Project Dashboard using Power BI. 
  • Develop the processes for collating project data and information from the supply chain according to contractual mechanisms. 
  • Analyse all available information to identify root cause issues, trends and to develop and prioritise improvement plans across all the project functions. 
  • Develop and deliver reports and dashboards following analysis for project data sets and management information using Power BI, Excel or other methods. 
  • Contribute to continual improvement and innovation in terms of reporting techniques and reporting. 
  • Meet all deadlines with regard to report submissions for both internal and external reporting. 
  • Coordinate with other Project functions to develop and implement the common coding standards, processes, and procedures across the project. 
  • Support and provide a bridge between the Data Lake Implementation Team and the Project Functions. 
  • Liaise with and support the Project Functions in identifying and utilising the most appropriate visualisation approach across project data using core tools such as Synchro and Power BI. 
  • Contribute to the integration of: Design Models (BIM), Programme (P6), Cost Control, Earned Value Management, Resource Allocation for the reporting at both corporate and project levels. 

 

Profile/Skills

  • Experience in producing project dashboards and reports
  • Power BI proficiency
  • Highly proficient in MS Excel
  • Experience of administration and reporting within large complex environments within the construction and engineering industry would be preferred, but by no means essential.
  • Database management
  • Programme code writing
