Context

In India, SYSTRA is an international consulting and engineering company operating in the fields of Metros, High Speed Rail, Railways, Roads, Buildings, Urban planning, and Water Infrastructure for public and private organizations.

CTR – Regional Technical Centre of Systra India takes care of the international production of major projects at Systra Group level. CTR team has expertise in design of High-Speed Rail, Metro, Conventional Rail, Bridges, Highways, Depots, Stations and Transport Planning. Starting from Feasibility/Concept stage to Detailed Design to IFC/Shop drawings, the disciplines involved have experience of designing in accordance with various international codes and delivered projects across the world.

CTR team has successfully delivered some major projects in UK, UAE, Tanzania, KSA, Australia, Canada and Denmark. One of the major achievements of India CTR team has been the design of HS2 project in UK. We played an instrumental role in delivering 3 major Sublots on HS2 with our teams proactively engaging with Front Office in UK and delivering beyond client expectations. This resulted in India team receiving many accolades from the contractor BBV and client HS2. 

CTR team in India is proficient in working on multi-disciplinary projects integrating Design, BIM and Drawing production in a seamless workflow incorporating different software. The technical and management teams within CTR get an opportunity to work and interact with other CTR teams within Systra Group from Paris, Poland, Dubai, Philippines and Brazil.

Missions/Main Duties

• Lead the review of complex design deliverables, including plan profile drawings, detail cross-sections, BOQ etc..
• Ensure design teams develop optimal solutions that meet project requirements, maintaining high standards of quality and innovation.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers and team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
• Oversee the technical review process for all projects within your teams, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to industry standards.
• Take ultimate responsibility for the financial and quality performance of projects within your discipline, creating a culture of ownership and accountability.
• Manage complex design projects independently, from feasibility through detailed design, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
• Lead resource planning and delivery strategy within tender teams, ensuring successful bids and alignment with project goals.
• Drive innovation within your team by staying informed on sustainable development, standardization, automation, and future trends and technologies.
• Organize your teams to adopt new technologies and methodologies, ensuring your team's skills remain relevant and competitive.
• Ensure compliance of the Systra Group policies, particularly on ethics, safety and adherence to Company ISO Standards.
• Promote and maintain good relationships with all internal and external parties to enhance the reputation of the Team and the company

Profile/Skills

• B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech degree in a relevant engineering field (e.g., Civil Engineering, Railway Engineering, Transportation etc.)
• 10+ years of experience in a design environment on range of civil engineering projects that include Rail infrastructure.Track record of leading and managing complex projects independently.
• Skilled user of Bentley Open Rail Designer, Bentley Rail Track, Civil 3D.
• Knowledge of creating templates, Corridor modelling, Cross section, Design of turnout, Super elevation, Regression analysis
• Detailed knowledge of multi-disciplinary issues associated with Rail Alignment design
• Detailed knowledge of construction principles and standards including Rail Alignment Design Codes (AREMA/UIC/EN)
• Experience of team management, mentoring and development
• Proven involvement in major projects and complex design work, with evidence of risk assessments, technical analysis, and case studies.
• Expertise in industry-relevant design tools and a commitment to continuous professional development.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
