The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.

Group W provides wargaming, warfare modeling and simulation, software development, data analytics, and operations research/system analysis support to the national security mission. As a leader in the fields of campaign, mission, and wargaming analysis we embrace the cycle of research paradigm, continually seeking to improve the multi-method application of tools, data, methods, and techniques to generate credible and resilient insights to inform decisions on the Department’s most challenging issues spanning CONOPs, acquisitions, force structures, tactics, and strategies. Group W is the developer and maintainer of the Synthetic Theater Operations Research Model (STORM), the authoritative M&S tool accepted by the Joint Analytic Community for analysis of theater-level, multi-domain, joint warfare. Similarly, we developed and manage the Standard Wargame Integration and Facilitation Tool (SWIFT) for OSW as an adaptable environment to support joint force combatants’ wargaming requirements.

We have an immediate need for a Sr. AFSIM M&S Analyst to provide onsite support out of Tampa, FL.

Serve as a senior warfighting analyst responsible for developing and executing analytical models and methods that support warfighting analyses from the engagement through campaign-levels. Support CENTCOM CCJ8 performing analysis of U.S. military planning activities utilizing AFSIM. Apply proficiency with mission and engagement-level models, simulations, and other operations research techniques. Apply skills to solve highly complex problems using statistical analysis, parametric and non-parametric analysis, computer modeling, simulation, and regression analysis. Responsible for developing and executing analytical models and methods that support warfighting analyses at the engagement level. Develop and execute mission-level representations and analyses of U.S., allied, and adversary forces executing warfighting concepts of operation. Advise other operations research analysts, scientists, or engineers on techniques best suited for tasked problems. Serve as the AFSIM Team Lead to manage and oversee the AFSIM M&S section.

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Physics, Engineering, or an applied science discipline and 7+ years of expereience OR a Master's degree with 5+ years of experience
• Active TS/SCI clearance
• 2+ years of experience performing campaign modeling and analysis using models such as STORM, EADSIM, AFSIM, AMP/MIDAS, or JFAST
• 5+ years of experience in the analyses of management or operational problems, with the ability to formulate and apply mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions
• 2+ years managing M&S teams
  
• Able to work fully onsite based on client needs

• Master's degree in Operations Research, Physics, Engineering, or an applied science discipline
• 5+ years of experience performing campaign modeling and analysis using models such as STORM, EADSIM, AFSIM, AMP/MIDAS, or JFAST
• 10+ years of experience in the analyses of management or operational problems, with the ability to formulate and apply mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions
• 5+ years managing M&S teams
• Prior military experience at the theater or joint task force level conducting planning or performing operational assessments
• Experience with developing R scripts for pre-processing, post-processing, data analytics, and data visualization
• Completion of professional military education at or above MEL-4
