The Space and Intelligence Division provides professional services to the US Space Force, Combatant Commands, Intelligence Community, and NASA. The Strategic Technology Analysis Group (STAG), part of the Space and Intelligence Division, offers sophisticated capabilities (people, process, and tools) to resolve unique problems in Space, Cyber, and special operations with emphasis on threat assessments, technology evaluation and prototyping, operational expertise, and modeling, simulation, and analysis. We support the Space Force, Secretary of Defense offices and theater warfighters. Our portfolio includes the Assistant Secretary of Air Force for Space Acquisition & Integration, Joint Warfare Analysis Center, Space Security and Defense Program, National Space Defense Center, Space Warfighting Analysis Center, Strategic Capabilities Office, US Space Command, and US Space Force.

 

Timeline for intern selection: 

  • Applications can be submitted and will be reviewed thru 15 December 2025.
  • Interviews will be ongoing and conclude by 29 December 2025.
  • Offers/decisions will be extended by 4 January 2026.

Responsibilities

Learn and gain experience through providing analytic and management analysis support for important Navy acquisition activities. Duties will include exposure to and participation in policy and program research, light data analysis, and development of presentations for senior leadership, focusing on undersea platforms and strategic deterrent activities. Directly support scientists and engineers perform characterization of space systems. This will include, detailed payload characterization through open source research, assist in assessment activities, and enhance assessment tools. Practical experience with optics or antennae and software experience such as Matlab, Labview, C++, and/or Visual Basic are a plus, but not requisite.This internship requires the ability to study and evaluate scientific publications for reliability and relevancy. The successful candidate should have a healthy interest in optical, radio, and aerospace technologies. Must have good organizational skills and the ability to work independently, seeking support from team members when required.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
  • Working toward a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Data Science, Operations Research or other technical or programmatic field
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with ability to synthesize data and communicate clearly via written and verbal means
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel to communicate to decision makers
  • Reports to designated work location in Albuquerque, NM, up to full time, based on the needs of the customer
