SPA has an immediate need for a Configuration Data Management Specialist  to support Air Force Life Cycle Management Center AFLCMC/WAM (F-16 Division) at Wright Patterson AFB. 


Responsibilities

Configuration Data Management Specialist responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Assist with CM and DM tasks related to the development, production and support of F-16 weapon systems, subsystems, and related equipment acquired by the USAF for USAF and FMS programs to include the full range of CM, DM, Engineering Data Management (EDM), and DR actions required governing DoD, USAF, AFMC, AFLCMC and program office directives, policies and guidance documents.
  • Assist with review of program-unique specifications to include system specifications, development specifications and product specifications for both hardware and software, for proper format, content and compliance with program requirements and appropriate standards. 
  • Assist to process requests for nomenclature and requests for Computer Program Identification Numbers (CPINs) and assist to track the requests through the appropriate government agencies for response back to the customer.
  • Assist to accomplish the configuration control function, to include receipt, dissemination, processing, tracking and final disposition of Advanced Change Study Notices (ACSNs),  Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Contract Change Proposals (CCPs), Requests for Deviation/Waiver (RFD/RFW), DRs, airworthiness directive notes, service actions and notices of deficiency. 
  • Assist to review change proposals for thoroughness, configuration and DM impacts, and compliance with Government requirements.
  • Make appropriate recommendations for Government review and disposition, and assist in the preparation and conduct of Configuration Control Boards (CCB) and business management boards (or their equivalent). 
  • Assist in maintaining change proposal files and assist in providing historical information.

Qualifications

The Configuration Management Analyst 1) will demonstrate the knowledge, experience, and ability to perform tasks related to the technical/professional discipline being performed, 2) typically works independently and applies the proper procedures and processes related to their area of expertise, and 3) Has the ability to problem solve and troubleshoot various situations to develop successful outcomes within established program / project guidelines.

 

Work is performed independently or under the oversight of more senior Contractor employees. (Program Office and Staff Level Support interface)

 

Functionally Aligned Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a related field and at least three years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, three of which must be in the DoD
  • OR, seven years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in the PWS labor category performance requirements, five of which must be in the DoD
  • Secret Security Clearance required and the ability to maintain it throughout employment

Desired:

  • Three years DoD acquisition program office CM experience with digital acquisition techniques focus
