JOB DESCRIPTION

Purpose

The Senior Coordinator, Transportation plays a critical role in optimizing inbound and outbound logistics for European Imports. This position is responsible for managing freight costs, improving delivery efficiency, and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods to customers. This role requires strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to effectively negotiate with carriers, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement within the transportation function.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and manage freight rates, service agreements, and delivery expectations with third-party transportation companies.
• Track and analyze inbound and outbound shipments, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and service improvement.
• Review and reconcile freight invoices, ensuring accuracy and approving payments.
• Operational Excellence:
• Coordinate and schedule deliveries to and from European Imports facilities and customer locations.
• Resolve daily transportation issues, such as delays, discrepancies, and customer service concerns.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Operations, Sales, Customer Service) to ensure smooth and efficient logistics operations.
• Data Analysis & Reporting:
• Analyze transportation data to identify trends, identify areas for improvement, and generate reports on key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Utilize data analysis tools to support decision-making and drive continuous improvement within the transportation function.
• Compliance & Safety:
• Adhere to all applicable regulations, including transportation regulations and food safety standards (e.g., GMP, SQF).

Skills

• Data Analysis & Reporting: Proficiency in data analysis and reporting. Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel) preferred.
• Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Negotiation & Problem-solving: Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve transportation-related issues effectively.
