Job Responsibilities
Job Summary
Sample management duties include receipt, inventory, chain of custody and storage, transfers and disposition of incurred samples, reference materials, matrixes, critical reagents and other items requiring defined storage conditions and tracking. Ensuring uncompromised integrity of materials and operating, troubleshooting and maintaining storage appliances and the environmental monitoring system are essential components of this role at all levels. The Sample Management Specialist II is skilled and thoroughly familiar with all routine and common duties of sample management and can perform any required actions independently and reliably. The Sample Management Specialist II will perform daily tasks and other duties as assigned.
Core Responsibilities
• Responsible for receipt, control and disposition of study sample and reference materials.
• Responsible for all aspects of shipping and receiving samples including destruction and transfer (as directed by client).
• Provide samples and other materials to the laboratory staff for analysis as requested.
• Keep an inventory of supplies used to manage samples and order supplies when needed.
• Assist with the maintenance, operation and support of sample storage equipment and the associate monitoring system.
• Archive documents associated with the management of study samples.
Qualifications
• High School diploma.
• Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal skills, both written and spoken.
• Good demonstrated computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and ability to employ sample-tracking software).
• English level: Required bilingualism includes understanding simple messages and following basic instructions.
