AWS Platform Engineer / DevOps & SRE
Location: Bangalore, Pune
Role Overview
The primary purpose of the Platforms Engineering Team is to provide engineering and operations support for platform technologies such as AWS. The team ensures stability, supportability, scalability, and agility, with a strong focus on security and risk management.
In this role, you will contribute to the overall platform engineering goals by ensuring the services provided are consistently viewed through key lenses such as compliance (e.g., PCI), continuous improvement, and service availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and manage Kubernetes-based platform components on AWS (EKS, ECS).
- Design and improve CI/CD pipelines and developer workflows.
- Implement best practices across observability, security, platform reliability, and cost optimisation.
- Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to streamline software delivery.
- Implement automation to enhance platform efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
- Work with cross-functional teams to improve customer experience and operational processes.
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving platform or infrastructure issues.
- Participate in DevSecOps practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide operational support, including participation in an on-call rotation to ensure system reliability and uptime.
Your Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in large-scale platform engineering, preferably using AWS cloud technologies.
- Strong understanding of cloud services, cloud-native architecture, and networking principles.
- Hands-on experience with DevOps, Platform Engineering, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
- Experience working in highly regulated environments with security, compliance, and controls (e.g., PCI).
- Familiarity with key tools and technologies including:
- AWS EKS, ECS, Lambda
- GitHub Actions, CI/CD tools
- Terraform (IaC)
- Python scripting
- Strong problem-solving mindset and a passion for engineering excellence.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
