Role Overview

The Senior DevSecOps Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring infrastructure resilience, secure software delivery, and operational excellence across the organization. This position acts as a strategic bridge between engineering, operations, and security—driving resilience initiatives, disaster recovery readiness, and continuous improvement of DevSecOps practices.

The role demands a seasoned professional with hands-on expertise in infrastructure management, DR & IT resilience planning, backup and recovery validation, and a strong ability to coordinate cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will be a trusted advisor to IT Owners, Product Owners, and Service Delivery Managers, ensuring technology services are secure, reliable, and aligned with business objectives.


Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Resilience

  • Drive the design and execution of disaster recovery (DR) strategies, including backup, recovery testing, and high-availability configurations. 
  • Maintain and improve infrastructure resilience, ensuring rapid and secure system restoration during incidents. 
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure DR plans are tested, documented, and meet business RTO/RPO requirements
  • Support service continuity and operational excellence in partnership with Service Delivery Managers (SDMs) and Operations teams. 

DevSecOps Practices & Tools

  • Lead DevSecOps tool evaluations, pilots, and implementations to enhance automation, observability, and security posture. 
  • Provide guidance and establish standards for secure SDLC and DevSecOps practices across engineering teams. 
  • Work on cross-functional initiatives that strengthen security integration in CI/CD pipelines. 

Collaboration & Governance

  • Act as a liaison between the DevSecOps team and other key teams such as CSO (chief security office), IAM (Identity and Access management), ITSCM (IT Service Continuity Management), and ServiceNow (SNOW). 
  • Collaborate with IT Owners and Product Owners to support process-related initiatives and ensure compliance with resilience and security frameworks. 
  • Partner with engineering and operations teams to drive alignment between infrastructure, resilience, and delivery goals.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and promote knowledge sharing across teams to enhance organizational maturity. 

Incident Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the overall IT landscape to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in collaboration with various teams. 
  • Contribute to post-incident reviews, ensuring lessons learned are translated into process and tooling improvements. 
  • Champion automation, observability, and resilience metrics to continuously optimize IT service performance.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in Infrastructure, DevOps, or DevSecOps roles (4+ years). 
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and hybrid architectures (on-premises and cloud infra) with hands-on in Linux & Win platforms. 
    • Experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab, Azure DevOps), automation frameworks (Terraform, Ansible), and good to have security integration tools (SonarQube, NexusIQ, Snyk, etc.). 
    • Proven experience in DR planning, backup/recovery, and IT Service Continuity Management (ITSCM)
    • Familiarity with SDLC processesrisk management frameworks, and security standards.
    • Scripting and automation proficiency (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.).
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively across technical and business domains.
    • Excellent documentation, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
