About the Role:
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced actuary to advance their career within an international insurance group. Working within the P&C division and supporting Corporate Solutions, you'll leverage your expertise to influence agricultural insurance pricing strategies across diverse markets while further developing your specialized knowledge in a collaborative, innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute quarterly actuarial profitability reviews for the agricultural insurance portfolio in Brazil, providing strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders
- Lead collaborative initiatives with business teams to optimize agricultural portfolio rate reviews and enhance crop insurance costing models for improved pricing accuracy
- Develop comprehensive actuarial frameworks for agricultural technical notes in Brazil, ensuring regulatory compliance while maximizing business opportunities
- Spearhead special projects related to agricultural risk assessment and pricing, demonstrating technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration
- Implement advanced data analytics methodologies specific to agricultural exposures to uncover actionable insights that drive strategic business decisions and portfolio optimization
About the Team:
We provide actuarial support to businesses across the Americas as well as own the development of many global actuarial models and parameters. We work closely with our P&C business leaders, providing guidance on profitability and needed rating plan changes to improve performance. We also partner with actuaries around the world to develop efficient cross-product models and consistent parameters.
About You:
You're a seasoned analytical professional with proven actuarial expertise who excels at solving complex insurance problems, particularly in agricultural risk assessment, and translating technical findings into business value. You demonstrate strong leadership potential, thrive in collaborative environments, and bring both technical rigor and innovative thinking to established processes.
We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related quantitative field
- 5+ years of relevant actuarial experience in insurance or reinsurance, with preference for agricultural insurance exposure
- Progress toward or achievement of professional actuarial credentials in Brazil.
- Advanced English proficiency with demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts clearly
- Proven experience in pricing, reserving, or portfolio management within P&C insurance
These are additional nice to haves:
- Experience with agricultural insurance products and their unique risk factors
- Knowledge of climate risk modeling and its impact on agricultural insurance
- Experience working in or with Latin American insurance markets
- Proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese
- Advanced skills in programming languages such as R, Python, or SQL
- Experience with actuarial modeling platforms and business intelligence tools
- Demonstrated project management capabilities and experience leading small teams or workstreams
- Understanding of the relationship between P&C operations and Corporate Solutions business needs
