About the Role:


As a Market Risk Analyst, you'll play an important role in safeguarding our investment portfolio across global markets. You'll analyze market trends, identify emerging risks, and collaborate with investment professionals to ensure our portfolio remains resilient in changing market conditions.

 


Key Responsibilities:


•    Provide comprehensive market risk oversight across Swiss Re's Strategic Asset Allocation portfolio with exposures spanning public and private credit, equity, and real estate markets
•    Conduct in-depth market risk analysis by monitoring trends, performing stand-alone, thematic and cross-asset analyses with focus on potential impact and drivers of risk
•    Develop analytical frameworks to assess investment theses and their alignment with Group risk tolerance
•    Collaborate closely with global Market Risk Management teams to deliver high-quality analytical work and provide enhanced risk insights
•    Support portfolio oversight and accumulation control for all public and private investments outside of ALM
•    Communicate findings effectively to stakeholders across the organization

 

 

About the Team:


The MRM Credit & Equities team plays a fundamental role for Solvency & Financial Risk Management with respect to the Group's Financial Market risk-taking activities. We manage portfolio oversight and accumulation control for all public and private investments outside of ALM; with significant investments in credit, real estate and equity markets managed by Asset Management globally.Team members are located in New York and Zurich and work in a  synchronized manner, often to tight deadlines. As a Market Risk Analyst you will have the opportunity to work with other risk managers assessing Asset Management's investment theses as part of its overall portfolio and the effect on Group risk tolerance. The role offers the opportunity to join a team which plays a crucial role in financial market risk management, in an open and collaborative global reinsurance company.  

 


About You:


You're an analytical thinker with a passion for financial markets and risk management. You thrive in collaborative environments, can communicate complex concepts clearly, and enjoy the challenge of working with diverse investment strategies. You're detail-oriented yet can see the big picture, allowing you to identify risks that others might miss.

 


We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements: 


•    Good academic track record in Engineering, Finance or Mathematics
•    Solid technical skills with proven programming experience (advanced data wrangling and integration, estimation and simulation techniques) in at least one scripting language        (preferably R)2-3 years' experience in financial markets or risk management, with a deep understanding of financial products (fixed income, equities and derivatives)
•    Self-motivated with initiative to implement measures in a goal-oriented manner
•    Comfort with working under pressure and adapting to changing priorities
•    Experience working in global, cross-functional teams
•    Good communication and organizational skills with ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines

 

Nice to have:
•    Professional qualifications (CFA, FRM) or progress toward these certifications

 

 


**For New York (NYC and Armonk), the base salary range for this position is between $100,000 and $150,000 for a full-time role.

**Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week.

 

The specific salary offered for any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget.
