We're looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Architect/Engineer to join our team and help shape the future of Swiss Re's cloud platforms.

In this role, you will:

•            Work primarily with Azure and Alibaba Cloud, leveraging strong Azure experience and solid AWS exposure to design and maintain secure, scalable cloud-native solutions.

•            Enhance your skills in multi-cloud adoption while working on cutting-edge infrastructure projects that drive innovation.

•            Collaborate with a talented, motivated team, embracing challenges as opportunities for growth and excellence.

•            Have the opportunity to lead key cloud initiatives and influence global strategies.

•            Design and implement infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform, ensuring platform stability and scalability.

•            Work with key platform services such as API gateways, Kubernetes, and other critical cloud infrastructure services.

•            Utilize advanced scripting skills in Python and Shell to automate infrastructure tasks and improve operational efficiency.

•            Contribute to DevSecOps practices using Azure DevOps with a focus on automation and continuous integration.

•            Enhance cloud security by implementing best practices and ensuring compliance with Swiss Re’s cloud governance standards.

•            Contribute to Swiss Re's healthy and transparent risk culture where everyone engages in continuous risk accountability activities.

About you:

We are happy to meet you if you possess:

•            University degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable field, or relevant work experience.

•            12+ years of development and cloud infrastructure experience, including at least 2 years as a cloud architect, with focus on designing, development, and managing shared services.

•            Strong understanding of end-to-end cloud architecture, including networking, IAM, security controls, service trade-offs, and cloud-native design patterns..

•            In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with cloud services such as Kubernetes (Docker and Helm charts), API gateways, Load Balancers, Serverless, and other cloud-native capabilities.

•            Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, particularly Terraform.

•            Experience in programming languages preferably Java.

•            A strong understanding of cloud security at both application and network levels, contributing to cloud security standards.

•            The ability to architect and design shared platform services on cloud platforms, focusing on multi-tenancy, logging, monitoring, availability, performance, resilience, and identity-based authentication.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels using clear reasoning and facts.
