About this role

<strong>Job Requirements </strong><br><p>Sweetwater, the nation’s #1 online retailer of pro audio equipment and musical instruments is seeking to hire a Band and Orchestra Inspector to add to our growing Band and Orchestra team. In this role, an instrument inspector will learn and perform our 40-point inspection process for each type of Band and Orchestra instrument, receive training on how to do basic instrument set-up and repairs, and unbox/rebox instruments for shipping. This is an opportunity to get hands-on and be a part of the Sweetwater Difference by making sure the instruments that reach our customers are held to the highest standard of quality. </p><br/><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Inspect at least one family of instrument- Woodwind, brass, or orchestral string.</li><li>Unbox instruments safely and rebox them carefully to prevent shipping damage</li><li>Work quickly and efficiently to meet productivity goals while maintaining our higher-than- manufacturer standards for instrument quality.</li><li>Inspect both new and returned retail and rental instruments</li><li>Utilize inventory software and follow proper inventory control procedures.</li><li>Other duties as assigned including shop cleaning, fulfilling and shipping rental instruments, and assisting the repair and rental teams. </li></ul><br/><p><strong>Requirements & Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Degree in music preferred but not required</li><li>Experience playing at least one type of woodwind or brass instrument at an advanced high school ability level</li><li>High level of attention to detail and focus</li><li>Ability to work under pressure while maintaining patience and a positive attitude</li><li> Ability to work while sitting or standing for long periods of time</li><li>Ability to consistently lift instrument cases and boxes up to 40 pounds</li><li>Previous experience in a production or warehouse environment a plus </li></ul><br/><p><strong>Sweetwater "Ideal" Team-Player</strong></p><ul><li>WOWs The Customer - Deep passion and desire for creating amazing customer & colleague experiences</li><li>Gets Things Done - Great work ethic and moves with a sense of urgency </li><li>Obsesses over the Details – committed to paying attention to the details</li><li>Drives Continuous Improvement – Always focusing on effective and efficient work and ways to get better </li><li>Develops the Future – committed to pursuit of growing personally & professionally and has a focus on bringing your colleagues along with you on that journey </li></ul><p><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"> </span></p><p><em>We function best as a unified team, so relocation to our </em><a href="https://www.sweetwater.com/careers/campus/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><em>state-of-the-art campus</em></a><em style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"> in </em><a href="https://www.sweetwater.com/careers/community/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><em>Fort Wayne, IN</em></a><em style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"> </em><em>is required.
