Animal Family Veterinary Care Center, part of the Suveto network of hospitals, is looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our Team!
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team on a fulltime basis. The role will involve assisting our veterinarians in both General Practice and Emergency Care settings. This is a dynamic position that requires flexibility, compassion, and a strong work ethic. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures
- Provide compassionate care and support to patients and their owners
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of hospital and equipment
- Handle and restrain animals safely and effectively
- Participate in the care and feeding of hospitalized patients
- Adhere to hospital core values, policies and procedures at all times
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure the highest standard of patient care
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a veterinary hospital or similar setting is preferred
- Knowledge of basic animal care and medical terminology
- Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and effectively
- Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds or heavier
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays
- Willingness to learn and take direction from veterinarians and senior staff members
- Compassionate nature and genuine love for animals
