SUMMARY:

Survival Flight is seeking an experienced Ambulance Billing/Coding/Collection Specialist to join our
team. This individual will be responsible for accurate and timely billing. This individual
should be familiar with CMS and all other billing guidelines and regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• • Read and interpret PCR and supporting documentation for efficient billing
  • Determine the correct level of service and diagnosis codes in proper sequencing
  • Assign appropriate modifiers
  • Data entry
  • Knowledge of appeals and denials
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of billing regulations and changes
  • Work denials or no pay's correctly and promptly
  • Electronic claim submission with minimal errors
  • Follow up on claims not paid timely
  • Collections including but not limited to patient, client, and insurance
  • Research addresses from return mail
  • Ability to readily calculate mileage, discounts, interest
  • Must be able to apply common sense to understanding instructions, assignments, and
  tasks
  • Proficient in verbal communication
  • Effective time management
  • Proficient negotiation skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR HIRE:

• • Associate or bachelor's degree
  • Ambulance Billing experience
  • Ambulance Certified Coder
  • Bilingual
  • Certified ICD-10 coding: 1 year (Preferred)

• MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR HIRE:
  • 3 years of medical billing and collections experience. In lieu of experience, a recent
  college graduate is open to learning about revenue cycle.
  • Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Managed care, Commercial and Auto
  insurance
  • Working Knowledge of HIPAA and compliance
  • Working Knowledge ICD10 codes
