About this role

Position Summary

The Quality Engineer supports departmental quality improvement initiatives and ensures compliance with automotive quality standards. This role coordinates and executes plans to obtain and maintain IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 certifications and ensures alignment with applicable international automotive standards. The Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting customer and supplier quality expectations, production requirements, and scrap and rework reduction efforts, while providing guidance to leadership on the interpretation, implementation, and communication of quality policies and procedures.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of quality control experience in automotive manufacturing
  • Strong working knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • Hands-on experience with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 standards
  • Experience implementing and maintaining quality system requirements, including APQP, PPAP, and customer-specific requirements
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 standards
  • Lead cross-functional teams in problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Validate supplier product quality through quality control plans, inspection criteria, and sampling procedures
  • Develop, implement, and improve quality systems to support business plan objectives
  • Plan, conduct, and support internal and external quality system audits
  • Verify the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions
  • Develop and maintain PFMEAs, Control Plans, Process Flow Charts, and Process Capability Studies

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of associates and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand engineering specifications and technical drawings
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes
