Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Hydromat Setup Supervisor to lead production on EPIC HF FANUC rotary transfer machines. This role combines leadership responsibilities with active machine setups, tooling, troubleshooting, and process optimization across multiple Hydromat machines.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Setup & Support
- Perform complete setups on Hydromat EPIC HF rotary transfer machines
- Set and verify tool lengths, offsets, station timing, and part transfer/clamping
- Troubleshoot tool wear, station alignment, timing, and part ejection issues
- Work with FANUC controls for setup support and alarm resolution
Production & Process Control
- Maintain cycle times and monitor part quality
- Verify process stability before releasing jobs to operators
- Adjust tooling and offsets to meet blueprint specifications
- Support continuous improvement to reduce scrap and downtime
Tooling & Process Optimization
- Coordinate tooling with Tool Room
- Select and approve inserts, holders, drills, taps, reamers, and form tools
- Improve tool life and station efficiency
- Assist Engineering with process development and documentation
Leadership & Supervision
- Lead Hydromat operators and setup personnel
- Provide hands-on training, assign daily priorities, and enforce safety standards
- Support performance feedback and skill development
Quality & Documentation
- Ensure first-piece inspections and approvals
- Support SPC and capability studies
- Verify compliance with blueprints, GD&T, customer requirements, and ISO/AS standards
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years hands-on Hydromat or CNC setup experience
- Strong knowledge of Hydromat machines and FANUC controls
- Ability to independently perform multi-station setups
- Understanding of rotary transfer machining principles, station sequencing, and tool interactions
- Blueprint reading and GD&T proficiency
- Experience using precision inspection tools
- Prior lead or informal supervisory experience preferred

- High-volume production machining
- Steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and alloy materials
- Multi-spindle or rotary transfer environments
- Process documentation and routing development
- ERP systems experience (Vantage preferred)
