Job Summary
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for organizing and preparing shipments, tracking inventory movement, and supporting daily department operations. This role assists the Shipping Supervisor and acts as the supervisor in their absence. The position requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive daily job lists from the Shipping Supervisor
- Gather baskets or containers of parts for packing
- Retrieve boxes from Quality Control with green “OK to Pack” documentation
- Assemble boxes and pack parts according to specifications
- Perform visual inspections during packing to identify burrs, defects, or plating issues
- Print and apply inventory and shipping labels
- Accurately enter inventory counts into the Vantage system
- Place packed boxes onto skids and move skids to approved staging areas
- Operate pallet jacks and forklifts as required
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Assist with department operations and perform other duties as assigned
- Act as Shipping Supervisor when the supervisor is absent
Requirements & Qualifications
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Ability to stand for 8–10 hours per shift
- Experience using scales for weighing shipments
- Basic data entry, reading, and math skills
- Ability to assemble boxes and prepare shipments
- Forklift certification required
- Ability to operate a hydraulic pallet jack
- Familiarity with or ability to learn the Vantage inventory system
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Safety-minded with adherence to all safety policies
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors
