About this role

Job Summary

The Batch Technician is responsible for preparing, handling, and monitoring chemicals used in Prime Line and Bonded production processes. This role ensures accurate batching, safe chemical handling, inventory control, and timely delivery of materials to production while maintaining strict safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and batch chemicals according to production schedules and specifications
  • Ensure batched chemicals are available to production and report potential shortages before downtime occurs
  • Perform batch and cup testing as directed and document results accurately
  • Monitor chemical mixing processes, tanks, and inventory levels
  • Load, unload, move, and store chemicals including drums, totes, racks, tanks, railcars, and tanker trucks
  • Offload tanker trucks and/or railcars into facility tanks following safety procedures
  • Coordinate with chemical vendors and drivers, ensuring safety reviews, proper documentation, and compliance
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, batching updates, and required paperwork
  • Perform quality checks and report any nonconforming materials or results immediately to supervision
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of chemical rooms, labs, containment areas, and storage locations
  • Clean mixing tanks and manage chemical waste disposal per facility procedures
  • Respond to and clean up chemical spills or leaks following the branch SPCC plan
  • Follow SDS guidelines and chemical safety best practices at all times
  • Operate forklifts safely and maintain required certifications
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Quality & Compliance

  • Comply with ISO-9001 standards and controlled documentation requirements
  • Meet customer quality expectations and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Participate in corrective and preventative action (CAR/PAR) processes
  • Complete required training and maintain compliance with all quality procedures
  • Utilize internal systems such as SharePoint as required

Qualifications

  • Ability to pass respirator fit testing and pulmonary function testing
  • Prior chemical handling, batching, or manufacturing experience preferred
  • Forklift operation experience required (certification required)
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong math and reading skills for measuring, counting, and documentation
  • Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Reliable attendance and flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and varied schedules
  • Comfortable working in an industrial environment with uncontrolled temperatures
