Overview
The HR Assistant Intern supports the Human Resources team with daily administrative and onboarding tasks. This internship is designed for students or early-career individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in HR operations, employee onboarding, and compliance in a fast-paced environment. The role provides exposure to core HR functions while offering mentorship and learning opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
HR & Onboarding Support
Assist with preparing onboarding paperwork and new-hire files.
Help track onboarding steps to ensure tasks are completed before start dates.
Support background checks, drug screenings, and employment verification processes.
Enter and update basic employee information in HR systems.
Administrative Assistance
Help maintain organized employee records and digital files.
Assist with scheduling orientations, meetings, and onboarding sessions.
Support the HR team with data entry, filing, and reporting tasks.
Answer basic HR-related questions and direct inquiries to the appropriate team member.
Employee Experience Support
Help create a welcoming experience for new employees.
Assist during orientations and onboarding sessions as needed.
Support HR events, meetings, and team initiatives.
Learning & Process Support
Learn and follow HR policies, procedures, and confidentiality standards.
Assist with updating checklists, templates, and HR documents.
Support special HR projects as assigned.
QualificationsQualifications
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or coursework in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (preferred but not required)
No prior HR experience required
Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
Good communication and teamwork skills
Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
Reliable, organized, and able to follow instructions
Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus, but not required
