Directly responsible for overall operation, coordination, and continuous improvement of the Production and Warehouse Departments, providing production of the Company’s products to the Customer, as well as providing a safe, secure physical plant for all the employees.  Reporting to the General Manager, the Operations Supervisor plays a crucial and sensitive role in the function of SupplyOne and as such must have and maintain a high level of skill, proficiency, and professionalism in the business and technical aspects of the Production and Warehouse Functions.  Due to the sensitive nature of much of the information processed by this position, a high degree of Integrity and Confidentiality must be maintained at all times. Supervises warehouse employees in the Warehouse, Receiving, and Delivery environments; plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in warehouse/transport methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions.

Key Duties & Accountabilities (Primary responsibilities & quantifiable measurements)

Provide storage, receipt from Suppliers and delivery of the Company’s products to the Customer, as well as insuring a safe, secure warehouse and delivery fleet for the employees. 
Manages the processing of receipts and shipments in a timely and accurate manner in the computer systems used by SupplyOne.
Responsible for coordinating and overseeing the Cycle Count program driving Inventory Accuracy improvement.
Ensures the efficient and safe utilization of docks, equipment, and people to receive, store, and ship our products.
Ensure effective and ongoing communication with Purchasing & Customer Service regarding any Finished Good items in a “tight” inventory supply status.
Resolves with Purchasing and Accounting any/all discrepancies regarding receipts and invoices.
Assures compliance with applicable laws including Department of Transportation (DOT) and regulations pertaining to safety in the workplace, environmental issues and fairness in hiring and management of employees. 
Responds to Operations Manager as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate informational needs and assist with projects as required.

Essential Functions (Essential/secondary functions that support the primary responsibilities)

Advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to changing conditions regarding warehouse/delivery equipment and labor loading.
Direct employee training to improve effectiveness and ensure conformance with policies and procedures.  Ensure the required safety procedures are followed.  Communicate clearly and directly with employees concerning performance expectations, productivity and accountability.
Work closely with Purchasing & Accounting to achieve:  Accurate inventories, accurate supplier charge-backs, and the timely return of defective material.
Train, develop, and appraise staff effectively.  Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy.  Consult with Human Resources as appropriate.
Establishes and maintains processes and procedures and a monitoring system to ensure compliance by all personnel.  Be involved with customer complaints to help resolve in a timely manner and adjust procedures to eliminate future occurrences of the same type.

Educational/Training Requirements/Experience (What your background should look like)

Must be familiar with and able to complete Certificate of Origin.
Must be familiar with the most common material handling equipment and be a licensed forklift truck operator.
Must be familiar with proper packaging methods and able to interpret visual aids used to convey specific packaging requirements.
Must be able to fill out bills of lading and be familiar with various forms that are used and required by the major freight carriers.
Ability to organize and plan work adhering to priorities and deadlines;
Ability to prioritize and delegate multiple work projects;
Strong attention to detail and mathematical skills;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Ability to interpret and apply technical data relating to position;
Thorough knowledge of logistics management including thorough skills knowledge plus the application of general logistics management theory
Must be proficient with forklifts, sit down, & upright reach trucks.
Must be capable of estimating weight, and use that information to calculate the cost of shipping.
Experience with UPS/FEDEX online software is desirable.

Maintain regular and punctual attendance

 

The final base pay offered to the successful candidate will be determined by factors such as work location, job-related skills, qualifications, experience, responsibilities, and relevant education and training.  In addition to our compensation, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including the following:
