Senior Kotlin Backend Engineer

We’re looking for a Senior Kotlin Backend Engineer to help us build a scalable, reliable backend that keeps our systems running smoothly and makes our clients’ experience seamless. You’ll work closely with L1 and L2 support teams to tackle tricky issues, contribute to a balanced on-call rotation, and provide clear guidance to keep everything running reliably. Along the way, you’ll set strong engineering standards, mentor growing developers, and be part of a collaborative team that supports each other’s growth - if this sounds like your kind of challenge, we’d love to hear from you.

• Supporting the development of a stable and scalable Kotlin and Spring Boot back-end from the ground up
• Crafting code that adheres to the highest industry standards while ensuring seamless integration with our Cl tools
• Collaborating effectively within a dynamic team environment and engaging in exciting and cutting-edge tech initiatives
• Collaborate closely with our L1 and L2 support teams to efficiently manage escalations - helping identify, troubleshoot, and resolve operational issues that keep our clients running smoothly
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to ensure reliable 24/7 client support paired with appropriate compensation for your time and expertise
• Bringing an architectural perspective to the planning process
• Guiding and mentoring junior developers to support their professional growth
• Collaborating with fellow engineers and supporting the work of Tech Leads and Architects

• 3+ years of hands on Kotlin experience on the backend
• 5+ years of experience in Java ecosystem - you know when to look into the JVM for solutions
• Deep understanding of Spring Boot
• Experience with an observability platform (Grafana / LGTM, or ELK stack, or NewRelic)
• Ability to work under pressure to troubleshoot under times constraints, identifying root causes, suggesting solutions, and following through
• Hands-on experience with SQL or NoSQL databases (Postgres, Redis)
• Experience with Kubernetes
• Familiarity with at least one public cloud provider (preferably AWS)
• Familiarity with IaC, such as Terraform, Helm is a plus
• DevOps mindset of continuous improvement by following processes, sharing knowledge, and learning from feedback
• A strong OOP mindset and a commitment to upholding SOLID principles
• A genuine interest in staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends
• A passion for writing clean, maintainable code, adhering to best practices (if you're a Clean Code/Coder/Architecture fan, you're more than welcome)
• At least an intermediate level of English language skills since our team operates internationally
