Purpose:


To provide the Plant with a high level of Maintenance expertise that ensures company objectives are supported, maintenance goals are efficiently and effectively met, and departmental downtime goals and preventative maintenance schedules are achieved. To carry out equipment and building repairs as required, while adhering to quality, safety, food safety, and legislative standards and guidelines.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems and perform repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Overhaul and install new equipment.
  • Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery and building maintenance.
  • Generate parts requests to ensure adequate inventory.
  • Complete work orders as assigned by the Maintenance Manager and/or Senior Management in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Perform production line changes and production line setups as required.
  • General Housekeeping – maintain tools, shop area, and parts storage in good working order. (Clean as you go!)
  • Able to perform repair, replacement, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting in the following items: tubing, fittings and air supply, pressure devises, level switch, temperature sensor, flow meters, regulators and valves, machinery lubrication, alignment of machinery, power drives, identify machine components, water pumps, pneumatic systems, hydraulic system, vacuum systems, fans and blowers, select pipes, valves and fittings, control system (sensor, limit switch, PLC input/output feedback), compressors, all filters, belts, bearings, gearbox, chains, welding.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Microsoft Excel: Create spreadsheet, format, print, etc.
  • Microsoft Word: Know how to write a report, create PDFs, attached pictures, format the file, print, etc.
  • CMMS System: create work orders, update the system, close work orders, etc
  • Email: create and manage emails.
  •  Any other duties assigned.


Qualifications:
  • Completion and Possession of a red-seal Interprovincial Millwright Ticket.
  • Have 1 to 3 years related experience preferred.
  • Able to work flexible shifts.
  • Ability to operate machinery and have basic computer skills.
  • Experience in a food processing & cooking facility is an asset.
  • Be success-driven and have a “can-do” attitude.
  • Be able to work independently, as well as be a strong team player.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Have a good attendance and safety record.
  • High degree of flexibility and adaptability to take up additional duties and cross-train.


Working Conditions:
  • Exposure to wet and cold conditions.
  • Exposure to excessive noise.
  • Physically demanding (lifting, pushing/pulling and bending).
  • Standing for prolonged periods of time.
  • Overtime and Weekend work as required.


Tools Required:
  • Steel toe/heel rubber boots. Boots must be in good, clean repair and have good tread at all times
  • Hairnet, Clean smock, Hearing protection, Rubber gloves, Arm sleeves, Safety hats (when applicable), Safety goggles/glasses
  • General tool equipment such as wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers etc.
  • Powered tools such as grinders, saws, etc
