Sunflower Bank, N.A. is looking for an energetic, highly motivated individual to fill the position of a full-time Accounting Analyst at our Salina, KS location.
The Accounting Analyst position is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of accounting entries, reports, and reconciliations, many of which utilize complex spreadsheets. These tasks involve assimilating data from various sources, updating spreadsheets and using analytical thinking skills throughout to determine their accuracy.
- Managing prepaid expenses, accrued expenses and fixed assets/depreciation processing
- Working with cash payments to third parties
- Performing and communicating financial statement variance analysis during the monthly financial statement close process in a time-sensitive manner
- Estimating the impact on financial statements of regulatory amendments, business model alterations, software conversions, etc.
- Preparing & remitting various state and local tax payments and returns as required
- Assisting with research on reconciliation discrepancies
- Resolving errors and issues to resolution
- Performing these and other activities within the control environment of Sunflower Bank.
Education / Experience Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in accounting preferred
- Desire and aptitude to identify and investigate anomalies on financial reports
- Proven ability to work independently & be able to communicate conclusions to management
- Proven ability to look for improvements in efficiency or effectiveness of operational processes
Pay is dependent on knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and location.
Working Conditions
The physical demands of this position require the ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Regular walking may be required, along with occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, or climbing. The role may involve lifting or moving items weighing up to 10 pounds. Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
