About this role

Team Description


You’ll join our People Operations team, the backbone of SumUp’s employee experience across the full lifecycle. This team plays a critical role in ensuring that our people processes are accurate, compliant and scalable. You’ll work closely with Payroll, Finance, Legal, Tech, and People Partners, supporting both day-to-day operations and continuous improvement initiatives as SumUp continues to grow in Brazil and globally.


What You’ll Do



  • Manage People Operations processes, including payroll support, vacations, leaves, and employee offboarding.

  • Own the termination and vacation workflows, ensuring accurate calculations, documentation, system updates, and timely payments.

  • Act as a key point of contact for CLT-related questions, internal policies, and operational guidance.

  • Partner closely with Payroll, Finance, Legal, GRC, Tech, and People Partners to ensure alignment and data accuracy.

  • Maintain and monitor data integrity across HR systems such as Workday and Apdata, including integrations and automations.

  • Produce reports, metrics, and operational insights to support decision-making.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and standardisation, contributing to scalable People Ops practices.

  • Support and mentor junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practices.


You’ll Be Great for This Role If



  • Large experience in HR Operations, covering payroll support, vacations, terminations, and compliance.

  • Strong knowledge of Brazilian labor law (CLT) and its application in daily HR operations.

  • Hands-on experience with HR systems (e.g. Workday, Apdata) and payroll interfaces.

  • Strong analytical skills, including Excel or Google Sheets for reconciliations, reporting, and controls.

  • Ability to work with high autonomy, ownership, and attention to detail.

  • Clear and confident communication skills, able to explain complex topics simply.

  • Empathy, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive employee matters.

  • Collaborative mindset, comfortable working with multiple stakeholders.

  • English proficiency to communicate with global teams.


Nice to have



  • Exposure to process automation or system integrations (e.g. Make or similar tools).

  • Experience supporting continuous improvement or HR transformation initiatives.

  • Familiarity with multi-country or LATAM operations.

  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior colleagues.
