The Role
As a General Ledger (GL) Accountant, you will take full ownership of month-end closing, balance sheet integrity, and IFRS accounting across our European entities.
You will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong controls, and audit readiness, while working closely with Accounting, Controlling, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and ERP teams.
This is a hands-on accounting role with strong exposure to international operations, complex accounting topics, and continuous process improvement — ideal for someone who enjoys ownership, problem-solving, and operational excellence.
What You’ll Do
Own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
Prepare, review, and explain balance sheet reconciliations (intercompany, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, VAT, payroll, leases)
Post and review general ledger journals, accruals, provisions, and reclassifications
Maintain and reconcile intercompany transactions, including loans and cash pooling
Perform IFRS 16 lease accounting, FX revaluations, and fixed asset accounting
Support VAT accounting, reconciliations, and investigations of discrepancies
Ensure high-quality financial data, strong controls, and audit readiness
Actively contribute to process improvements, automation, and standardization
Collaborate closely with Accounting, Controlling, FP&A, Treasury, Tax, and ERP teams
What We’re Looking For
Solid experience in General Ledger / Financial Accounting / RTR
Strong understanding of accounting principles and IFRS
Proven ownership of month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations
Ability to analyze discrepancies, identify root causes, and propose solutions
Experience working in a multinational or SSC environment
Very good English communication skills
Hands-on, structured, detail-oriented, proactive mindset
Nice to Have:
Experience with SAP S/4HANA
Professional accounting qualification (ACCA / CIMA / in progress)
Experience with automation tools (Excel Power Query, VBA, BI tools, etc.)
