About this role

The Team


You’ll join the Brazil Fraud Prevention Operations & Strategy team, a highly impactful group sitting at the intersection of data, operations, and risk. This team plays a critical role in protecting SumUp and our merchants by continuously improving fraud detection, operational efficiency, and decision-making through data.


Working closely with Fraud Operations, Fraud Strategy, and Global Analytics, you’ll help shape how data is used to prioritise work, measure performance, and inform smarter fraud prevention rules and processes.

What You’ll Do




  • Manage and prioritise incoming analytics requests from Brazil Fraud Prevention Operations stakeholders, balancing speed, impact, and quality.




  • Own and develop the Fraud Prevention data domain, working with tools like Snowflake, dbt, and Git.




  • Collect, analyse, and interpret large datasets to uncover trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process or fraud-rule improvements.




  • Design and monitor KPIs, metrics, and dashboards that measure operational performance and efficiency.




  • Translate complex data into clear insights and stories for non-technical audiences.




  • Partner closely with Global Operations Data Analysts to align on global data models, metrics, and visualisation standards.




You’ll Be Great for This Role If




  • Intermediate SQL proficiency (comfortable with joins, CTEs, and window functions).




  • Hands-on experience with data visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau), including building dashboards from scratch.




  • Previous experience in data analytics, BI, or operations analytics.




  • Proven stakeholder management skills: gathering requirements, prioritising demands, and presenting insights clearly.




  • A self-starter mindset, you work independently, proactively spot issues, and propose solutions.




Nice to have




  • Experience with dbt, Git, Snowflake, or other cloud data warehouses.




  • Python or R for deeper or advanced analysis.




  • Background in fraud, risk, compliance, fintech, or payments.




  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
