About the Compliance Team


Our Compliance team helps SumUp operate with integrity, transparency, and full regulatory alignment. We enable business growth by ensuring compliance isn’t a blocker, but a trusted enabler of fair and sustainable sales practices.


As a Compliance Officer, you’ll join our European Compliance team in London/Dublin, supporting field sales activities across our core markets. You’ll play a key role in developing oversight frameworks, running thematic reviews, and helping ensure that SumUp’s face-to-face sales are conducted compliantly.


What You’ll Do



  • Review field sales processes and procedures to identify areas of regulatory improvement and support remedial actions

  • Develop a control framework to identify risks emerging within field sales proactively

  • Lead compliance upskilling sessions for field sales business leads

  • Provide advice and oversight on changes to commission structures

  • Complete thematic reviews and quality assurance on sales activity

  • Support on data collection and analysis for field sales, including complaints, financial crime investigations, and offboarding

  • Assist with regulatory reporting submissions for UK and IE entities



You’ll Be Great for This Role If



  • You have 3+ years’ experience in risk and compliance 

  • You have strong analytical skills and can confidently interpret data to identify risks and trends.

  • You have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in English.

  • You’re proactive, hands-on, and take ownership of your work.

  • You’re curious and eager to develop your compliance expertise while supporting field sales teams.

  • You have experience or interest in regulatory reporting and/or financial crime investigations (a plus!).
