Job Summary
Inspects, operates and performs preventive and corrective maintenance (of minor complexity) on facility related equipment and systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, etc.).  May assist more senior Facilities department personnel in moderate to complex repairs.  Responsible for working in an on-call capacity to support after-hours maintenance needs. 

Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities
1. Operates, maintains and performs minor repairs of facility related equipment.  Performs basic troubleshooting of equipment failures/malfunctions with some assistance from others. 
2. May perform minor carpentry, painting, drywall and other aesthetic type repairs. 
3. Completes building rounds/equipment inspections, monitors and responds to equipment alarms, and fire/utility related emergencies. 
4. Performs work orders as assigned by Supervisor (or designee). 
5. Ability to effectively utilize materials, parts and supplies to affect maintenance and repair of equipment. 
6. Keeps work area neat and orderly to reflect a professional work environment.
7. Uses the computerized maintenance management system for work assignment and documentation. 
8. Demonstrates ability to complete tasks with guidance utilizing available resources.
9. Performs special projects and other related duties as assigned.   
10. Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
11. Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems.
12. Assisting the engineers as needed.

Required Education and Experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years’ experience in facility maintenance preferred.

Required Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations
1. Current valid Driver license.
