About this role

JOB SUMMARY:

The Sales Manager will work closely with the district Inspection Sales Reps (ISR) and Service Sales Reps (SSR) in their assigned area to ensure goal attainment.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Achieve assigned sales goals by monitoring activity weekly through CRM, the 7-day activity report and regular contact with both ISR and SSR and their managers.
  • Report to local management on overall development of sales team including sales related obstacles, poor performance and morale.
  • Prospect at all times for good quality ISR/SSR candidates for the purpose of filling sales replacements and/or additional sales positions in a timely manner (less than 1 month).
  • Report monthly to assigned district(s) on YTD sales performance, areas of concern including poor performance and action plan to remedy issue.
  • Create and implement Performance Improvement Plans where warranted.
  • Maintain 2-3 large (greater than $20K per annum) inspection prospects per ISR.
  • Develop 2-3 service only customers with each SSR.
  • Perform monthly ride along visits with assigned ISR and SSR’s.
  • Ensure that every ISR participates in the National Accounts and Government sales program by identifying at least 2-3 qualified leads during the year.
  • Monitor monthly cancellation activity by reviewing reports accessible from CRM and suggesting corrective action.
  • Conduct monthly sales meetings to include ISR’s, SSR’s and Service Manager.
  • Collaborate with Director of Sales on all marketing, email marketing ideas and special assigned projects.
  • Participate on monthly call with Director of Service Sales (first Friday of every month).
  • Participate on ISR and SSR teleconference calls when scheduled.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The qualifications listed below are representative of the elements required to perform the job successfully, however in some cases, an equivalent combination of Education, Training, Certifications and Experience may meet the job qualifications.

Education, Training, Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED, required. 
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Business or related, preferred.

Experience, Knowledge, Skill Requirements:

  • 7 years sales or fire protection industry service and/or inspection sales experience, required.
  • 5 years reading electronic blueprints, and experience with SalesForce, preferred.
  • 5 years operating a computer, Microsoft Office, required.
  • Must have the ability to effectively read, write and communicate in English with employees, customers and board or directors.

Other Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required. Reliable transportation, required. 
  • Must be able to comply with SFS’s Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements, which may also include customer specific requirements based on contractual agreement
  • Frequent travel, required, up to 50%

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and stand for long periods.  Employee will occasionally be required to drive, bend, kneel, balance, lift <20lb, walk, stand, ascend/descend stairs, reach above and below shoulders, stoop, and twist.

Work Environment:

Employee will consistently be required to work indoors in an office or remote setting, work alone and with others. Employees will frequently be required to travel. Employee will occasionally be required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, as required by company safety policies.
