About the Job:
The Behavioral Health Associate serves as an integral part of the multidisciplinary treatment team and is responsible for monitoring and reporting of client behaviors; providing continuous client care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling; assisting in client data collection, recording, and maintenance; and responding in crisis situations and medical emergencies as needed.Roles and Responsibilities:

High school diploma or equivalent required.
6 months experience as a BHA preferred
Prior experience working with the population served (psychiatric, behavioral health, or addiction recovery) required.
Knowledge of psychiatric disorders, dual diagnoses, and treatment modalities preferred.

Promote safety & wellbeing: Ensure constant awareness and supervision of clients, conduct safety checks, and manage valuables in accordance with facility guidelines.
Support recovery goals: Engage with clients in meaningful activities that encourage participation, independence, and progress toward treatment goals.
Lead therapeutic groups: Facilitate educational and rehabilitative groups on topics such as coping skills, social skills, anger management, and independent living skills.
Be a trusted guide: Welcome new clients, introduce them to programs and peers, and encourage participation in activities that foster growth and community.
Provide hands-on support: Assist with admissions, discharges, transportation, daily living needs, and recreational activities—all while ensuring safety and structure.
Communicate & document: Observe client behavior, report changes or concerns, document records accurately, and provide detailed shift reports to ensure continuity of care.
De-escalate with care: Apply de-escalation techniques to help manage emotions and behaviors in a respectful, professional manner.
Enhance client experience: Offer new activity ideas, help plan diverse therapeutic programs, and set up resources and equipment for recreational activities.
