Summerset Waikanae is preparing to open its brand-new care centre – a premium facility nestled in a picturesque, established village poised to become the heart of aged care in the region. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of something special from the very beginning, where you’ll help deliver compassionate, high-quality care in a state-of-the-art environment. 

As a Registered Nurse at our Waikanae village, you will be part of a team that provides quality aged care and creates the best most enjoyable lifestyle to our care centre residents. Our residents are often here for many years, and our approach to care is resident-directed. The ultimate focus is their quality of life.

Typical duties include:

• Managing residents’ everyday needs, from clinical to end-of-life care
• Creating and following long term care plans as well as clinical assessments
• Taking charge of the care centre on certain shifts and making appropriate clinical decisions
• Delivering planned nursing care and evaluate progress in partnership with the resident and their family to enhance their daily lives.
• Providing guidance and direction to the caregivers on shift
• Building trusted relationships with residents and their families

The shift pattern for this role is either 2 days on, 4 days off, or 3 days on, 3 days off with night shift hours of 11:00pm – 7:00am.

3 weeks paid training commences onsite on the 13th March 2026 ahead of the care centre’s official opening.

As an experienced Registered Nurse, you will be seeking a rewarding role and feel motivated by enhancing residents’ lives.

•  A NZ Registration and a current Practicing Certificate
• A genuine interest in working with older people and an understanding of clinical services as they are delivered in a retirement village
