Summerset Whangarei is preparing to open its brand-new care centre – a premium facility nestled in a picturesque, established village poised to become the heart of aged care in the region. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of something special from the very beginning, where you’ll help deliver compassionate, high-quality care in a state-of-the-art environment. 

Job Description

As a Caregiver at our Whangarei Village you will work as part of a team that creates the safest, healthiest and most enjoyable lifestyle for our residents. This role is varied and centres around providing personal care and assistance to our resident’s daily lives.

Typical duties include:

  • Delivering meals and helping with mealtimes
  • Aiding with hygiene, such as showering
  • Assisting with Individual care plan requirements, such as walks and exercises
  • Helping with activities, such as puzzles, table tennis etc

3 weeks paid training commences onsite on the 9th March 2026 ahead of the care centre’s official opening. 

We have morning and afternoon shifts available working 4 days on 2 days off with a minimum of 16 hours and a maximum of 32 hours per week. 

Shifts options are 7:00am to 11:00am or 4:00pm to 8:00pm.

Qualifications

You will naturally be empathetic, kind and patient, and thrive in a role where your compassion and care make a difference to people’s lives.

You’ll bring with you:

  • Experience in aged care or similar industry
  • You will be a Level 0 or have up to a Level 3 Health and Wellbeing certificate
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to build lasting relationships
  • Commitment to a rotational roster across morning and afternoon
  • Ability to work a roster pattern of 2 days on and 4 days off
