About this role

STV is seeking a Data Engineer to join our Digital Advisory Services team at any STV office location. This client-facing role will lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data solutions that power analytics, reporting, and digital transformation initiatives across our infrastructure and facility portfolios.

The successful candidate will collaborate with software developers, data analysts, and project managers to build secure, high-performing data pipelines and architectures within Azure and multi-cloud environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data architectures in Azure, including Azure Storage Accounts, Azure SQL Databases, Azure Data Factory, and NoSQL technologies such as Cosmos DB and MongoDB.

  • Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data using Azure Functions, Python, and T-SQL.

  • Utilize Python for API development, scripting, and process automation, enabling seamless data integration and workflow orchestration.

  • Manage data warehouse setup, performance tuning, and maintenance, ensuring data quality, consistency, and accessibility.

  • Integrate data across systems using APIs and develop custom solutions in Python, .NET, and Java for application interoperability.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate analytical needs into technical specifications and data models.

  • Work closely with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD workflows through Azure DevOps and GitHub.

  • Administer and automate processes across SharePoint, Power Apps, and Power Automate environments.

  • Implement robust data governance, metadata management, and security frameworks aligned with organizational policies.

  • Support analytics and visualization teams by preparing optimized datasets for Power BI and other BI tools.

  • Lead migration and modernization efforts using ShareGate, Snowflake, and cloud-native technologies.

  • Explore and prototype emerging capabilities in Machine Learning and AI model development to enhance data-driven decision-making.

  • Document data systems, APIs, and pipelines, ensuring maintainability and knowledge sharing across teams.

  • Support proposals, business development, and client presentations related to data engineering and digital transformation initiatives.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • 4+ years of experience in data engineering, database development, and data integration in enterprise environments.

  • Hands-on experience with Azure SQL, Azure Storage, Azure Data Factory, and T-SQL.

  • Proven expertise in data warehouse design, ETL/ELT processes, and performance optimization.

  • Strong proficiency in Python for data processing, API development, and automation scripting.

  • Experience developing and integrating APIs using Python, .NET, and Java.

  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases including Cosmos DB, MongoDB, and Cassandra.

  • Solid understanding of Power Platform tools (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) and SharePoint Administration.

  • Working knowledge of version control and deployment pipelines using GitHub and Azure DevOps.

  • Familiarity with Snowflake and cloud data ecosystem integration.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into actionable business insights.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and other cloud environments.

  • Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, and data modeling best practices.

  • Experience implementing machine learning pipelines and developing AI models.

  • Understanding of data security, compliance, and privacy frameworks.

  • Experience working within interdisciplinary digital transformation projects and enterprise modernization initiatives.

  • Knowledge of CI/CD automation, API management, and microservices architecture.

Compensation Range:

$89,487.93 - $119,317.24
