A Brief Overview
To provide construction, maintenance, repair and demolition support for the Medical Center buildings. Expected to respond to any service request with enough knowledge to make a well-educated decision about how to respond to proceed with repairs or job tasks by performing the following duties.

Education Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED Required


Experience Qualifications

  • 2 years Related work experience. Required


Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. (Required proficiency)


Licenses and Certifications

  • Drivers License - DMV Current Valid Driver’s License and Clean MVR with 3-year baseline and annual MVR review. Required


What you will do

  • Perform all basic repairs to interior and exterior of structures, including but not limited to cosmetic and structural repairs, minor electrical, plumbing and HVAC repairs, installing wallpaper and painting of interior and exterior of facilities. Provide quality workmanship on all projects assigned. Perform all duties assigned in a safe and efficient manner conforming to Stormont-Vail Health Care procedures, policies, and manuals.
  • Perform demolition of walls, floors, ceilings, electrical and HVAC and other components of buildings as needed.
  • Frame walls and ceilings, both wood frame and metal frame, install drywall and finish to paint ready.
  • Install, repair and adjust both windows and doors and their components to operate properly. Install equipment, fixtures and hardware as required to complete renovation or repairs.
  • Build, repair, replace or demolition of cabinetry or millwork
  • Perform minor masonry and concrete work.
  • Assist in moving of furniture. Maintain furniture inventory in warehouse.
  • Cleaning and finishing of floor covering on Design & Construction projects. Keeping work areas clean, neat and free from potential hazards.


Travel Requirements

  • 20% Driving to sites as necessary.
