Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume): 
Associate's degree (foreign equivalent or higher), credit equivalent (60 credits), or completion of an early childhood accredited course. In lieu of the educational requirements, two (2) years of full-time experience in the field of childcare will be considered. One (1) year of early childhood experience working with children 5 years and under. 

Preferred Qualifications: 
Associate's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Early Childhood Education or related field. Additional years of experience working with children 5 years and under. Experience in a full-day, early childhood/child care setting. 

Brief Description of Duties: 
This is an early childhood team teaching position based in an infant/toddler multi-age grouping at Stony Brook Child Care Services, Inc. The goal is to provide high quality care and education to children ranging in age 2 months to 3 years. Additionally, the Center is a practicum site for undergraduate interns who will be supervised and mentored by this staff person. 

  • Teaching: Provide daily care and education to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of children aged 2 months to 3 years in accordance with Stony Brook Child Care Services, Inc. philosophy. 
  • Administration: Participate in administrative duties that involve scheduling, hiring, adapting curriculum, monitoring the condition of the facility, and availability of supplies.
  • Student Intern Program: To include supervising and serving as a role model for undergraduate interns as well as participating in seminars and the grading process. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Special Notes:
The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Non Exempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.
