Objective of the position

In this role, you will translate stakeholder requirements into system specifications and design definitions. This involves decomposing the system into elements, defining interactions and interfaces (including with the environment and users), and selecting appropriate technologies and resources for implementation. Additionally, you will assess system feasibility and perform risk assessments to ensure the complete system meets stakeholder expectations.

Characterization of activities

  • Decompose customer and business requirements into functional- and non-functional system requirements. Analyze, evaluate, prioritize, structure and (peer) review the system requirements.
  • Develop the system architectural design and specify the system elements. Define and manage interfaces, analyze and evaluate the architectural design and perform (peer) reviews.
  • Perform system modeling, simulation, and trade-off analyses to support design decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as software engineering, functional safety, cybersecurity, electrical engineering, system verification and project management.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Develop and maintain the system FMEA.
  • Assist with business acquisition by assessing technical feasibility, engineering effort and risk for RFQ/RFI’s and change requests.

Education, Experience And Knowledge

  • Education: BSc in a technical discipline (preferably Systems-, Automotive-, Software-, or Electrical Engineering).
  • 5-8 years of experience as a systems engineer, preferably in the automotive, heavy equipment or the agricultural industry.
  • Knowledge of requirements engineering, either gained through a course/training, or proven experience gained on-the-job during your professional career.
  • Knowledge of system architectural design, either gained through a course/training, or proven experience gained on-the-job during your professional career.
  • Familiarity with requirements management tools (Doors NG, Polarion or similar) and system modeling tools (SMW/Capella or similar).
  • Nice-to-have: Knowledge of Functional Safety (ISO 26262), Cyber Security (ISO 21434), ASPICE, UNE ECE R46, MBSE, field of view studies, camera image pipelines, image recognition or image stitching.

  • WIA: WIA floor, WGA gap and WGA gap additional insurances in accordance with the stipulated provisions.
  • PAWW: Compulsory supplementary insurance when the statutory unemployment WW or WGA benefit expires.
  • Holiday days: 27 days on an annual basis (full-time).
  • ATV: 13 days on an annual basis (full-time)
